Fishing
Fishing is permitted on the shores of Lake Opeka. The lake is home to large mouth bass, channel catfish, northern pike, white crappie, and common carp. Daily creel and size limits are posted in the clubhouse and around the lake. Click here for creel limits. Fisherman over the age of 16 must have a current Illinois Fishing License, and all anglers must have a Lake Park Pin, or purchase a daily activities pass. Live bait is available at the Lake Park Clubhouse.

Picnics
Lake Park features a beautiful sheltered picnic pavilion, which was a gift to the community from the Des Plaines Optimist's Club. The pavilion includes nine tables where you can host a family party, corporate outing or group picnic, and there is a built-in grill nearby. Reservations are required, and must be made at least two weeks in advance. Call 847-391-5705 to make your reservation today.

2010 Picnic Pavilion Rental Fees
Residents: $50/day
Non-residents: $125/day
Des Plaines businesses: $100/day
All other businesses: $400/day
Please note: A $50 deposit is required for all pavilion rentals.
